About the Speakers
Data Scientist ,
Theodore is working on the Data Science team at Uptake Technologies. He utilizes machine learning and predictive analytics to help clients optimize their usage of industrial machinery. Prior to Uptake, Theodore worked within PepsiCo's Data and Analytics organization. While contributing to enterprise wide projects at PepsiCo, Theodore also returned to school part time. He graduated from the Masters of Science in Analytics at the University of Chicago in December 2016. He has a strong interest in data analysis and predictive analytics.
Runzel has founded and sold her own company, as well as held leadership positions in finance and operations in multiple early stage startups. With success in scaling from the ground up, she has implemented processes and systems to empower individuals on the team and decentralize decision making. Essential to this corporate structure has always been a strong emphasis on alignment across goals, values and ethics.
Ed is the Lead Engineer at CoLane, where he’s merged his love for engineering, conversational AI, and long haul trucking. CoLane uses conversational AI and automation (bots) to handle the boring parts of logistics so our freight brokers can focus on the most important parts of the job. Prior to CoLane, Ed worked in consulting for a number of different clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500, but always with a focus on building scalable software, solid teams, and smart applications.

Mike contributes extensively to the Open Source community, participating in notable projects such as Drupal and jQuery. Mike is a published co-author of the jQuery Cookbook (O’Reilly, 2009) and speaks widely on technical and business topics.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys biking, hiking and snowboarding with his wife and daughters.
