CoLane, the modern day freight brokerage, has been selected to speak at the the seventh annual 3PL Value Creation North America Summit hosted by Armstrong & Associates. The conference will take place from October 15-17th in Chicago, Illinois.
CEO Parker Holcomb will speak on the Supply Chain Innovation panel along with Prasad Gollapalli, CEO of TruckerTools, and Tony Wu, CTO of Parade. The panel will focus on the role of automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
“The transportation industry is desperate for new technology to actually pay off,” Holcomb said. “The need for downloads, logins, and integrations have made it quite difficult for shippers, carriers, and 3PLs alike to take advantage of emerging technologies.”
Enter Archie, CoLane’s virtual assistant, who handles continuous communications with all the parties involved on a load. Getting everyone to align on a new software platform would be impossible, so Archie’s communications occur via email, text, and phone, which remain the core coordination tools in the trucking industry. Drivers don’t even know, or care, that the responses are automated.
"Zeke and I built CoLane to make computers work for shippers." Holcomb added. "Together with our customers, we are building a better cockpit — a digital broker from which freight moves seamlessly. Shippers rely on our tech-enabled services to speed up scheduling, predict problems, improve on-time delivery rates, and reduce carrier turnover."
